Intrauterine fetal death and associated maternal conditions

Background: Intrauterine fetal death (IUFD) is a cataclysmic event for the parents. It an important indicator of maternal and perinatal health given population. This study was undertaken to factors associated with IUFD. Methods: retrospective carried out in Bangladesh Institute Research Rehabilitation Diabetes, Endocrine Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM) General Hospital, Dhaka, from November 2019 October 2020 . The details history, examination findings, investigation reports , mode delivery outcome were obtained records. Results: A total number 57 intrauterine reported amongst 1534 deliveries conducted during period. occurrence 37.1/1,000 live births ; Among all these cases, 87.7% preterm 89.4% singleton delivery. other conditions uncontrolled blood glucose 64.9% hypertensive disorders 36.8% medical causes 10.5% cases. Associated included growth retardation fetus 28.0% oligohydramnios 21.0% congenital malformation 14.0 % Placental condition antepartum hemorrhage 3.5% Conclusions: In this study, high incidence glucose, malformations emphases importance proper antenatal care identification risk its treatment.
